Peter Kent, Practice Director, started as a sole practitioner under the name Peter Kent Architect soon after leaving Bristol University in 1981, while at the same time working with his sister and brother-in-law in their Practice. Peter then spent some years as the Chief Architect to a Housing Developer, specialising in individually designed housing developments, while also maintaining the ‘home’ practice. Clare, the second Director of the Practice has worked with Peter as Practice Administrator for many years, initially splitting her time between the Practice and teaching. Clare later took an HNC in Garden Design and for the last 8 years has been full-time, running the Practice and assisting with Landscape design.
Since 1996 Peter has devoted all his time to the Practice, and he has continued to meet the needs of a wide range of clients, from large housing and commercial developers, to race horse trainers, to householders wanting an imaginative extension.
In 2012 the Practice changed its name PKA Architects and became a limited Company.
