Housing development of brownfield site in Marlborough is recommended for planning approval.
This mixed-use development on a former used car garage brownfield site in central Marlborough includes new houses, apartments, and offices. The project includes a river frontage that preserves and enhances the existing biodiversity corridor. The architecture incorporates traditional materials including red brick, ensuring a design that is in keeping with the local vernacular. This development will provide modern, sustainable living and working spaces while maintaining the character of the town.
We have been advised that the application is to be approved under delegated powers, subject to a Section 106 planning agreement being prepared and signed, which is a big step forward to the planning permission being issued. During the application process we were required to make some minor design amendments and provide more ecology details, and this has now resulted in the planning officer agreeing to approve the scheme under delegated powers. Once the legal agreement is signed the permission will be formally issued.
More details on the project can be found here.
