The New Normal and 'Working From Home' by Caroline Ferris

As we are all changing the way we live and work in response to Covid-19, PKA Architects are continuing to adapt to working from home during these unprecedented times.

Although we are missing real ‘face time’ in the office, we are working hard to minimise disruption and maintain delivery of our services through remote systems.

Communication is a top priority, not only for collaboration within the PKA team, but also to continue engaging with our clients and industry consultants. Using video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, we are facilitating regular contact to ensure projects are being delivered effectively and efficiently.

To accommodate the circumstances with which we are faced, PKA shall remain flexible in the way we approach tasks and continue to offer support to both new and existing projects.

Keep well and stay safe.

PKA Architects and Covid-19 by Caroline Ferris

PKA Covid-19 Statement.jpg

Following Government advice PKA Architects have been working remotely since Monday 23rd March 2020. Of course, in the case of Peter and Clare this means working from the office!

We would like to assure all of our clients we are continuing to operate and you can contact the office through the usual means.

We will be monitoring the situation and follow all relevant Government and World Health Organisation advice, returning to the office only when it is safe to do so.

In the meantime we would like to wish our clients and industry colleagues well for the coming months and reassure you that PKA Architects remains on hand to assist with your needs.

Planning Submitted by Caroline Ferris

Working with Seend Community Land Trust, PKA Architects have submitted plans for 11 new build houses at Park Farm in the Parish of Seend, Wiltshire.

The proposal is a community led development comprising 10 affordable homes for rent and shared ownership and 1 self-build services plot.

The affordable homes have all been designed to Passivhaus standards and are designed to be carbon neutral in use.

PKA are excited to continue working alongside the client to see the project progress.

Sketching Day at Roche Court by Caroline Ferris

The team at PKA recently attended a CPD day of sketching with local artist Nick Andrew at the New Art Centre at Roche Court.

The event, organised by RIBA Wiltshire allowed us to step away from our computers for the day, taking things back to basics by picking up those pens and pencils and seeking out to capture the unique settings, beautiful views and interesting gems across the sculpture park.

It was a great team building event and of course the delicious lunch produced wholly from the Roche Court gardens was very welcome!

A former car park pocketed within a woodland setting adjacent to the River Avon, The Spinney is a mix of 2 and 3 bedroom dwelling houses that form a central courtyard with private gardens to the rear.

The development is due to start on site early 2019 and PKA Architects are looking forward to seeing construction progressing.
